Forty kilometres of coast for swimming, surfcasting and boats launched straight off the sand, with walks from Queen Elizabeth Park to the Tararua foothills.

The Kāpiti Expressway and Transmission Gully put the city about 35 minutes away, Kāpiti Line trains run every half hour, and daily flights leave from Kāpiti Coast Airport in Paraparaumu.
