Warranty Claims.

Thank you for purchasing your new home with Friday Homes.
We hope you're enjoying your home and settling in well.

Step 1

Submit the form

The Warranty Claim Form must be completed before any work can begin.

Step 2

We assess your claim

The Project Manager or original contractor assesses the claim before repairs are approved.

Step 3

Repairs arranged

Approved repairs are scheduled with the right contractor for the job.

While every effort is made to ensure a high-quality build, we understand that defects or issues may sometimes arise. To help us resolve these efficiently, please ensure the Warranty Claim Form is completed before any work can begin. If you're unsure whether your concern qualifies as a warranty request or who to contact, please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions or contact our team for guidance.

General Terms.

01

Assessment first

All warranty claims will be assessed by either the Project Manager or the original contractor before any repairs are approved.

Every claim

02

Guide to Tolerances

Friday Homes follows the industry-recognised Guide to Tolerances when assessing defects. This protects both homeowners and builders by providing a fair and consistent standard.

Industry standard

03

Homeowner negligence

If a product fault has occurred and homeowner negligence has contributed to additional damage, the additional damage may not be covered under warranty.

May not be covered

04

Outside your control

If the issue is deemed outside the homeowner's control, the claim will be assessed and may proceed under the 1-Year Guarantee.

1-Year Guarantee

Emergency Repairs.

If an emergency arises within your 1-year warranty period (e.g. water leaks, electrical hazards, loss of power or water), please contact the appropriate contractor listed in your handover documents.

If the contractor is unavailable or cannot attend promptly, you may engage another qualified tradesperson to carry out the repair. You may then submit a reimbursement claim to Friday Homes. If the issue is verified as an emergency and within warranty scope, the cost will be reimbursed.

Your reimbursement claim must include:

  • A contractor report
  • Supporting photos
  • An invoice for the work completed

Plumbing Issues.

If you experience a plumbing issue, such as leaks, blocked drains, or low water pressure, follow the steps below. The original plumber must always be given the opportunity to inspect and remediate the issue in the first instance. Failure to do so may result in repair costs not being reimbursed.

01

Contact the original plumbing contractor

Their details are listed in your warranty handover booklet. They must be given the first opportunity to inspect and fix the issue.

02

Can't reach them? Contact Plumbing Express

If attempts to contact the original plumber are unsuccessful and immediate attendance is required, contact Plumbing Express, our official plumbing partner. They are authorised to respond to both standard and after-hours callouts.

03

Plumbing Express reports on the cause

After inspecting the issue, they will provide a written report indicating whether it is a homeowner maintenance or misuse issue (not covered), a plumbing installation fault (potentially covered), or a product failure such as a faulty valve or cistern (may be covered by supplier warranty).

04

Urgent or non-urgent?

If the issue is urgent (e.g. an active leak or health/safety risk), Plumbing Express will carry out the necessary work immediately and Friday Homes will assess the report to determine who is responsible for the cost. If non-urgent but still a plumbing fault, Friday Homes will arrange for the original plumbing contractor to return and complete the repair. Plumbing Express will not proceed with non-urgent work unless authorised by Friday Homes.

Cleaning your shower waste properly.

We've seen recurring issues with loose shower wastes, often caused by incorrect cleaning methods. To avoid unnecessary plumbing callouts (and associated costs), follow the visual guide or the steps below.

Step 1

Gently lift the waste lid by prising it from the lock ring. Do not twist or force it.

Step 2

Remove the inner trap and clear any debris. Wipe clean with a cloth.

Step 3

Reinsert the inner trap, then carefully align and press the waste lid back into place until it snaps.

Improper removal or forceful cleaning can loosen components, leading to leaks or odours. These issues are not covered under warranty. If you're unsure, contact your contracted plumber or reach out to Plumbing Express for guidance.
